The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is hosting a groundbreaking next week for a $200 million casino expansion project.

The Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort will see the addition of 83,000 square-feet of conference space, plus a 17-story hotel tower with 725 rooms. New retail and dining outlets are also on the way.

When complete, the casino in North Carolina will feature four hotel towers. Nearly 1,900 rooms will be available for patrons.

The project represents the latest in a series of expansions at the casino in North Carolina. A $13 million bowling alley and entertainment center opened at the facility last September. A $650 million expansion was completed in 2012.

The ceremony takes place Tuesday, June 26, at 10am at the casino.
