The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes are still hoping to open a $35 million casino expansion project before the end of the year despite running into a snag with the original contractor.

The tribe terminated its contract with Ormond Builders last month. Big-D Construction Corporation is now on board to "complete the project," Chairman Nathan Small said in a press release.

The project involves connecting the Fort Hall Casino to the adjacent Shoshone-Bannock Hotel and Event Center. The 85,000-square-foot addition will feature a 240-seat bingo hall, a new lounge, a 24-hour deli and a new buffet.

Work is expected to be finished on the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel in the fall.
