The Ponca Tribe is rejoining the Indian gaming industry with the help of an experienced partner.

The tribe is working with a subsidiary of the Chickasaw Nation, on the Fancy Dance Casino in Oklahoma, The Enid News reported. Construction on the 12,000-square-foot facility is expected to begin in March 2018, with an opening later in the year, the paper said.

“Chickasaw Nation has a reputation and proven track record of success. Together, we will be able to provide a second-to-none entertainment experience for the region," Chairman Earl "Trey" Howe III said in a press release of the involvement of Global Gaming Solutions in the project.

The Ponca Tribe's two prior casinos were forced to close due to regulatory issues. The Chickasaw Nation, on the other hand, operates nearly two dozen casinos and is considered a leader in the industry.

The Fancy Dance Casino will be located near the intersection of two major interstates east of Enid.
