The Menominee Nation has acquired the naming rights to a new minor league basketball arena in Wisconsin.

The Menominee Nation Arena will promote the Menominee Casino Resort as well as the Menominee Tribal Enterprises, the tribe's timber business. The deal runs for five years, according to a press release, though terms weren't reported in the local media.

"We also thought this would be a great opportunity for us to provide insight and information as to who the Menominee people are," Chairman Gary Besaw told The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "This is a great source of pride for us."

The Menominee Nation Arena is due to open in less than a month, WeAreGreenBay.Com reported. The 3,500-seat facility will be home to the Wisconsin Herd, the development team of the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Menominee Nation Arena is located in Oshkosh. The Menominee Reservation is about 71 miles north.
