The Iowa Tribe continues to make big promises as it prepares to offer real money play on its long-delayed poker website.
After being tied to a company that to date has failed to get the site off the ground, PokerTribe.Com has a new partner. And it is in fact a big name: Monster Technology Group, of Monster Products fame, has acquired the software assets that are supposed to be controlling the website. "Collaboration with a company having the reach and impact of Monster is a perfect marriage that will help us bring legitimate online gaming to players and enthusiasts worldwide. It's the beginning of something truly 'Monsterous,'" Chairman Bobby Walkup said in a press release on Wednesday. The deal is the latest sign of progress for the poker operation. Late last month, the tribe's Ioway Internet Gaming Enterprise Limited secured a gaming license from the Isle of Man, where internet gambling is legal. PokerTribe.Com is now set to launch December 15, according to Digital Trends and CalvinAyre.Com. The date runs up to the very edge of the tribe's original promise of a "late fall" start for real money play. The tribe is able to offer online games under its Class III gaming compact but patrons have to be located in a jurisdiction where internet gambling is legal. That leaves out Oklahoma and most other states. The tribe offers gaming at three physical sites in Oklahoma: the Cimarron Casino, the Ioway Casino and the Ioway Travel Plaza. Read More on the Story:
