The Tulalip Tribes are moving forward with plans to build a new casino in Washington.
The tribe will break ground on a $100 million on a replacement for the Quil Ceda Creek Casino later this year, The Everett Herald reports. The new, 110,000-square-foot facility will be going up across the street. “It’s time for a new one,” Chairwoman Marie Zackuse told the paper. “We’re going to keep it as the locals’ casino and cater to what they like. It will be more entertainment and more food venues, but keeping that feel for the locals.” The tribe also operates the Tulalip Resort Casino, which will remain larger than the new facility.
