The Klamath Tribes broke ground on a hotel at its casino in southern Oregon.

The Choice Hotels Sleep Inn at the Kla-Mo-Ya Casino will feature 84 rooms. The $6.5 million project is expected to open in about 12 months, KOBI-TV reported.

"We are very excited to be taking this step forward in our growth and we hope you'll join us on the journey!!" a post on Facebook read.

The hotel is part of a long-term expansion at the casino, The Klamath Falls Herald and News reported. Plans are still in development for what is being called "Phase II" of the project.

According to the tribe, the hotel is being financed in part by a loan guarantee issued by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
