The Pala Band of Mission Indians is undertaking a major expansion and renovation at its casino in southern California.
The $170 million project at the Pala Casino Resort and Spa includes a new hotel tower with 349 rooms, bringing the total number of rooms to 845. Plans also call for a multi-pool and entertainment complex, a larger parking garage and a complete "refresh" of the interior and exterior of the facility. "Our ability to exponentially expand and refresh Pala Casino Spa & Resort is a true testament to, not only the growth of Pala, but also to the thriving economy and the continued strength of the gaming industry in California," Chairman Robert Smith said in a press release. "This is a significant milestone for our tribe and we look forward to continuing to exceed the expectations of our loyal patrons." Construction will begin in October and work is expected to conclude in May 2019. Related Stories:
