Indian businessmen eye casino in Shiprock

Monday, March 15, 2004

Could there be a second casino coming to the Navajo Nation? Two Indian businessmen and a Navajo leader hope so.

Floyd Kurley and Tom Vigil, owners of K-V Enterprises, have proposed a convention center and hotel in Shiprock, New Mexico. Navajo Nation council delegate Wallace Charley of Shiprock supports adding a casino.

Currently, only the Navajo community of To’hajiilee near Albuquerque has been authorized for gaming. To’hajiilee is detached from the main reservation.
