A Minnesota House committee voted 13-9 against a bill to establish an urban casino for two Ojibwe tribes.
Casino backer Rep. Bill Haas (R) blamed other tribes and an anti-gaming group for the bill's defeat. He had been hoping to get the bill to the floor for a floor vote. The White Earth and Red Lake bands of Ojibwe sought an urban casino due to the remote location. But other tribes opposed the bill. Get the Story:
