Agua Caliente Band promotes gaming at GOP meet
Tuesday, August 31, 2004
California's delegates to the Republican National Convention are being urged to vote "Yes" on a Proposition 70, sponsored by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.
The tribe paid for the tote bags given to the state's delegation. Inside are a t-shirt feature a picture of late president Ronald Reagan and a quote from him about tribes. There's also a brochure promoting Prop. 70.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) opposes the initiative, which he says will not contribute enough money to the state. He is a speaker at the convention.
