The gaming company that has partnered with two tribes has acquired two properties in the Catskills region of New York.
Empire Resorts Inc. purchased two resorts for stock valued at $250 million. Shares of the company were up 23 percent as of closing yesterday. Empire is working with the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma. The tribe and Gov. George Pataki (R) agreed to settle the Cayuga land claim for a casino in the Catskills. Empire also works with the Cayuga Nation. Pataki had announced an agreement with the tribe for a Catskills but talks have fallen through. Get the Story:
