A second meeting is planned between representatives of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) over the tribe's use of video lottery terminals.
The tribe has refused to remove the machines as requested by Schwarzenegger. The tribe says they aren't covered by the tribal-state compact. No agreement was reached in a closed-door meeting yesterday. Attorneys for both sides said they aren't ready to go to court yet and scheduled another meeting for December 13. Schwarzenegger is demanding the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians stop using the machines as well. A meeting with the tribe is expected soon. Get the Story:
