Shares of Multimedia slide after games removed

Friday, January 14, 2005

Shares of Multimedia Games Inc. (MGAM) fell 7.2 percent on Thursday, a week after two California tribes decided to remove the company's machines.

MGAM was supplying video lottery terminals to the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians and the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. The tribes removed the machines after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) said use of them violated the tribal-state compact.

MGAM's largest market is Oklahoma, where large tribes use the company's electronic machines.
