The tribal council of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa voted 7-1 on Tuesday to "step back" from its casino plans and reconsider the options.
The tribe initially proposed a $30 million casino on the Lake Superior shore. But when investors couldn't be found, the plan was scaled back to $22 million. Now the tribe will look at other options. Chairman Ray DePerry, who supported the scaled-back plan, criticized the vote. Get the Story:
