Editorial: State wrong on tribe's 'PlayAway' game

"State regulators said the game violated state and federal law, and the state/tribal gaming compact and the U.S. Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

Specifically, the state cited a year-old law that prohibits promotional online lottery games. But is the game a promotion or an information service?

PlayAway really amounts to no more than the source of information for keno winners. How that differs from newspapers and TV and radio stations that carry daily lottery numbers is a bit of a mystery."
