Tribe reopens casino after settling with ex-manager
Friday, September 2, 2005
The Big Sandy Band of Western Mono Indians reopened its Mono Wind Casino on Thursday after settling a dispute with a former manager.
The casino was shut down when Fresno County Sheriff's deputies came to collect a $700,000 judgment owed to former manager Michael Troilo. The tribe handed over $170,000 at the time.
The tribe and Troilo have since come to an agreement that allows the reopening of the casino.
Troilo is giving back $70,000 for now and will not seek the rest of his judgment until mid-October.
