The state of Oklahoma is seeing far less than it expected under new tribal gaming compacts.
For the month of August 2005, 18 tribes contributed $880,391 to the state, The Oklahoman reported. This was down 16 percent from July 2005. The figures mean the state is on track to see $12 million in gaming revenues this fiscal year. State Treasurer Scott Meacham had projected $40.5 million, The Oklahoman said. The compacts require tribes to share revenues from certain electronic machines. But tribes have been slow to install the machines for various reasons. Get the Story:
