The Grand Forks, North Dakota, city council will vote on Monday, October 17, on a proposed non-reservation casino by the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.
According to The Grand Forks Herald, four council members are in favor of the casino, two are in doubt and one is opposed. Council president Hal Gershman, who favors the casino, says the public is 50-50 split on the idea. The tribe operates a casino on its reservation.
