The council of the Chippewa Tribe of Montana voted 6-2 on Friday to seek a liquor license for a planned casino.
Jonathan Windy Boy and Rusty Gopher voted against the measure. Windy Boy said selling liquor would send a wrong message to the youth and go against the tribal principles. A financial manager for the tribe's development corporation said liquor sales could increase revenue at the planned casino. The council will seek a license through the state of Montana. Get the Story:
