Wednesday, November 9, 2005

Voters in two Ohio communities easily approved casino agreements with the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.

In Monroe, 67 percent of voters supported an intergovernmental agreement with the tribe, according to unofficial results. Not all of the ballots have been counted

In Lordstown, 69 percent support the agreement. All votes have been counted.

The tribe is seeking to open casinos in Monroe, Lordstown and other communities in Ohio. State officials say they won't negotiate a deal.
