The Estom Yumeka Maidu tribe on the Enterprise Rancheria says it won't drop its bid for a casino on non-reservation land in Yuba County, California.
The tribe and its gaming partner plan to continue despite losing a nonbinding vote on Tuesday. County voters rejected Measure G by a 51-49 margin, although it passed in one district. The vote may hamper the tribe's efforts to open the casino. The tribe still needs to negotiate a compact with the state and gain approval to acquire the land in trust from the federal government.
