Turtle Mountain Band to release casino study

Wednesday, March 8, 2006

The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians is planning to release an economic impact study of its proposed off-reservation casino in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The tribe is working with Guy Useldinger, a local developer. He says that development surrounding the casino will generate $4 million in property taxes for the city.

If approved, the casino would be the first off-reservation casino in North Dakota. Other tribes in the state oppose the idea.
