New Indian Gaming Industry Report to be released

Wednesday, June 21, 2006

The Analysis Group is releasing its latest Indian Gaming Industry Report today.

Compiled by economist Alan Meister, the report notes a 15.6 percent increase in tribal gaming revenues. Tribal casinos brought in nearly $23 billion in 2005, the report says.

In California, revenues grew by 24 percent to 7.2 billion, according to Meister.

In Wisconsin, tribes took in $1.2 billion last year, the report says, a modest increase of 4.4 percent. Michigan tribes saw a 2 percent increase.

But a total of 12 states -- including Florida, Oklahoma and Washington -- saw double-digit growth in 2005, according to the data.
