Court ruling expected in Wisconsin gaming suit

Thursday, July 13, 2006

The Wisconsin Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling Friday that could alter the future of Indian gaming in the state.

The owners of an ailing dog track filed suit in hopes of limiting the types of games tribes can offer. But a negative ruling could hurt the tribes and the state, officials said.

The tribes share a portion of revenues from Class III games with the state. Depending on the way the court rules, certain Class III games could go away entirely.
