The Jena Band of Choctaw Indians is expanding its gaming facility in Louisiana.

The tribe secured funding to add an 80-room hotel to the Jena Choctaw Pines Casino, KALB-TV reported. Chief Cheryl Smith told the station that the new amenity is expected to open in late 2018.

Jena Choctaw Pines is a Class II facility. The state has refused to negotiate a Class III compact even though slot machines, table games and similar offering are legal in Louisiana.
