The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians has shared $32.1 million in gaming revenues with communities in Michigan, WPBN reported.
Under its Class III gaming compact, the tribe makes payments twice a year. The fall payment was $878,424 while the June payment was $710,408, the station reported.
The tribe opened the Little River Casino Resort in 1999 and is pursuing an off-reservation casino under the two-part determination provisions of the Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act. The environmental impact
statement is still under review at the Bureau of Indian Affairs and a decision is likely years away.
