Osage Nation set to break ground on $150M expansion at casino

The Osage Nation of Oklahoma is moving forward with a big casino expansion project.

The tribe is spending $150 million on the first phase of the project at the Osage Casino in Tulsa. Work includes a hotel, a brewery, more gaming space and other amenities, News on 6 reported.

Further down the line, the tribe plans to keep growing. The total cost of the effort will top $500 million, the station reported.

“We are in a highly competitive market, so we need to offer a product that is comparable to our competition - that way we get visits. We all share the same people; it is a local’s market," Osage Casino CEO Byron Bighorse told News on 6.

The groundbreaking takes place on Thursday, the station reported.

The tribe operates six gaming facilities in Osage County.
