Cherokee Nation schedules job fairs for newest gaming facility

Tuesday, October 25, 2016

The Cherokee Nation is looking for employees to work at its newest casino in Oklahoma.

Two job fairs will be held November 2 and November 14. Both take place at the community center in Grove, the location of the $23 million facility.

The tribe broke ground on the 39,000 square-foot casino in March. It's expected to create 175 new jobs.

“A quality job is one of the key foundations to a healthy family. I am so proud we are creating opportunities for citizens to improve their lives through employment," Chief Bill John Baker said during a topping-off ceremony in June. "Our business expansion around the Grove community means more Cherokees will be working and contributing to the local economy.”

The casino, the tribe's 10th gaming facility in Oklahoma, is expected to open sometime this winter.
