The American Gaming
Association continues to add Indian Country representation to its leadership.
The
Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation; Wind Creek Hospitality, owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians; and the Chickasaw Nation have joined the board of directors. The new members more than double the tribal representation in the organization's leadership.
"Our commitment to bring together commercial operators, Tribal operators, casino suppliers and allied members is uniting the industry and driving conversation around the most important issues facing the gaming community," Geoff Freeman, AGA president and CEO, said in a press release.
The other Indian Country representatives on the board are the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, an agency of the
Mohegan Tribe, and Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Seminole Tribe.
AGA is hosting the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, next week. It's the largest gaming conference in the world.
