The Navajo Nation Council on Wednesday approved a bill to fund a travel center at its flagship casino in Arizona.

Legislation No. 0214-16 authorizes a travel center at the Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff, Arizona. The money for the project would be drawn as a $10 million loan from the Síhasin Fund, a fund that was created by a $554 million trust settlement

The Twin Arrows Travel Center would consist of a gas station and convenience store. It would be located along Interstate 40, a busy highway.

The bill was approved by a vote of 16-2, according to a press release. It now goes to President Russell Begaye for his review.
