The Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe, is hosting a casino job fair on July 23.

The tribe needs more employees to work at the Gun Lake Casino in Wayland, Michigan. The facility will be nearly doubling size as part of a $76 million expansion.

The project, which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2017, includes a 300-seat multi-station buffet restaurant, a larger Stage 131 entertainment lounge in a different space at the casino, a new high-limit gaming room and more slot machines and table games. There's also more room for employees with a new dining area and lounge.

Construction, which started in January, will support 300 to 400 jobs. The casino itself will add another 100 positions, bringing the total number of employees to more than 900.

The tribe opened the casino in February 2011 despite litigation from a non-Indian man who lives three miles away and wants some sort of monetary settlement. Congress passed S.1603, the Gun Lake Trust Land Reaffirmation Act, to confirm the trust status of the site and put an end to the lawsuit.

A federal judge upheld the constitutionality of the law but plaintiff David Patchak refuses to drop the case. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments on May 13 but a decision hasn't been issued.
