Former Choctaw Nation casino worker gets two months for theft

A former employee of a casino owned by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma was sentenced to two months for stealing from the tribe's establishment.

Allen Michael Scott, 22, admitted he stole more than $1,000 from the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant. But neither his guilty plea nor the indictment against him offer much information about the crime.

There's similarly little information about a co-defendant who was charged at the same time. Dung Thi Ngoc Nguyen, 33, also admitted to stealing more than $1,000 from the casino and awaits sentencing.

Scott and Nguyen are among five former employees to be charged with theft from the casino in recent months. The facility was at the center of a massive federal corruption case that led to convictions against eight people.
