The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations has been granted approval to pursue another casino in Saskatchewan.

The facility would be located in the city of Lloydminster. It would join six other Native casinos operated by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority.

“For the past 20 years the success of our SIGA casinos has been enabled by partnerships with local First Nations and Tribal Councils," FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron said in a press release. "This helps to create First Nations economic opportunities that are based on our economic self-determination.”

Final approval of the project depends on a community consultation plan, approval from the city of Lloydminster and approval from the province and FSIN to modify an existing gaming agreement.
