The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan reopened one of its casinos on Friday morning after a bomb scare prompted the evacuation of thousands of guests and employees.

About 2,500 people were evacuated from the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort on Thursday night, the tribe said in a press release. Tribal authorities investigated two bomb threats that were delivered by phone and officially cleared the area early in the morning with the help of local and state agencies.

“Our guests and employees will always remain a top priority and everything was done to ensure their safety.” Chief Frank Cloutier said.

Tribal police have identified a person of interest and the investigation remains ongoing.
