The Kalispel Tribe of Washington is welcoming the public to a golf course that's serving as an amenity to its off-reservation casino.
The tribe bought the business for $3 million in December, upgraded it and renamed it the Kalispel Golf and Country Club. Starting on Friday, the general public will be able to play there for the first time in the course's long history.
“It's open to the public and we want people to experience something that they haven't gotten to experience before,” Phil Haugen, a tribal member who serves as the manager of the Northern Quest Resort and
Casino, told KREM.
The casino is about 14 miles away and the tribe sees the course as a way to offer new opportunities for patrons.
