The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts will hold a casino job and vendor fair next month.
Prospective employees and businesses will be able to learn more about working for and working with the First Light Resort and Casino that's under construction in the city of Taunton.
The tribe broke ground on the $1 billion development last week.
“A development of this magnitude will generate hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity that will be a boon to tribal citizens, area residents, and businesses across southeastern Massachusetts,” Chairman Cedric Cromwell said in a
press release.
The tribe expects to hire 2,600 people to work at the casino once it opens in the summer of 2017. Construction of the facility is generating 1,000 jobs.
The job and vendor fair will take place at the Holiday Inn in Taunton, 700 Myles Standish Blvd, from 11am to 4pm on May 14.
