A former employee of a casino owned by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has pleaded guilty to a theft charge.
Details are scarce but Dung Thi Ngoc Nguyen, 33, admitted to stealing more than $1,000 from the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant. He faces up to 20 years in prison and up to $1 million in fines, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a press release.
A co-defendant named Allen Michael Scott was indicted in connection with the same case. He has not pleaded guilty, according to a review of federal court records.
Nguyen and Scott are among five former employees to be charged with theft from the casino in recent months. The facility also was at the center of a massive federal corruption case that led to convictions against eight people.
