The Coeur d'Alene Tribe of
Idaho has revived the Julyamsh powwow.
The popular event was canceled last year because the venue where it had been held for 17 years was involved in a controversial gaming dispute. After a political and legal battle, the tribe succeeded in an effort to ban so-called "instant racing machines" at non-Indian racetracks.
The tribe will now host the powwow at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. It will run from July 22 through July 24.
