The Gold Eagle Casino, a
Native gaming facility in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, is preparing to celebrate a major milestone.
The facility opened its doors on March 1, 1996. It's grown to employ more than 300 people and continues to expand operations.
"We are grateful to our patrons, employees, and members of the community for their support,
Zane Hansen, the president and CEO of the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming
Authority, said in a press release. "We remain committed to making a positive impact through job creation, helping drive the tourism industry, and sharing our success through community investment.”
The latest expansion debuted last summer. The 34,000 square-foot facility saw another 5,000 square-feet of space, enabling part of the casino to go smoke free.
SIGA operates a total of six Native casinos. Revenues are shared with all First
Nations, host communities and the provincial government.
