The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is seeking at least $4 million in damages in connection with the collapse of a parking deck at the North Carolina tribe's flagship casino.

The collapse at the Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort occurred in February 2015. Although there were no injuries, The Cherokee One Feather reported at the time, the tribe is accusing several construction companies of breach of contract, negligence and bad faith.

According to the amended complaint, the companies breached their duties to the tribe by using "substandard or improper materials and failing to otherwise construct the parking deck in accordance with the contract requirements, the applicable plans and specifications, industry standards, applicable buildings codes, and good construction practices and in a manner that would result in a sound, structurally sufficient final product."

The lawsuit was filed in federal court last week.
