The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is planning to build a new hotel and expand its casino in downtown Palm Springs, California.

The hotel could feature up to 350 rooms and 510,000 square-feet of space, according to news reports. It would replace a hotel that the tribe demolished at the site last year.

As for the Spa Resort Casino, it could grow by 68,000 square-feet. Comments are being solicited in preparation of a draft plan that will be released in early 2016, The Palm Springs Desert Sun reported.

“Over the past year, we have been working on developing a master plan for this site. This environmental study is the next step in determining what is possible for our downtown location,” Chairman Jeff L. Grubbe said in a statement quoted by the local media.

The master plan also includes a parking garage with up to 850 spaces directly north of the casino.
