The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians in California collected a record amount of toys as part of its annual casino holiday drive.

Employees and patrons at the Viejas Casino and Resort donated 17,368 toys to the Salvation Army, far exceeding the goal of 15,000 goys. The tribe also presented the non-profit with a $35,000 check.

“Providing support for those in need in our community is at the heart of our value system," Chairman Robert Welch said in a press release. "Every family deserves good cheer for the holidays.”
