Cherokee Nation opens 120-room hotel as part of $80M casino revamp

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma will debut the 120-room hotel at its casino near the Arkansas border.

The hotel is the final piece of an $80 million expansion project at the Cherokee Casino in Roland. The 170,000 square-foot facility replaced an aging building that hadn't been updated since its debut in 1990.

Tribal leaders will now dedicate the hotel on Thursday, The Fort Smith Times Record reported.

Roland was the site of the tribe's first bingo operation. The city is a few miles from the Arkansas border.
