Poarch Creeks almost done with $65M expansion at casino

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama are almost done with a $65 million casino expansion project.

The Creek Casino Montgomery is getting a 123-room hotel, new entertainment venues and eateries and a full-service salon. It's also getting a new name -- the Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery.

“As a tribal member, being able to participate in and deliver another project to the Poarch Band of Creek Indians on time and within budget brings a great sense of pride," Shawn Rolin, the president of Rolin Construction, one of the contractors on the project, told Construction Equipment Guide.

Some parts of the project are already complete. Lucille's Eatery, a casual eatery, opened earlier this year and will be joined by the B.B. King Blues Club and Restaurant and Itta Bena, a more upscale space.

The casino's website boasts a December 15 arrival for most of the new amenities. Previously, the tribe said the hotel would start accepting guests in January.
