The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has yet to receive final approval for its casino in Massachusetts but a new job listing indicates progress on the long-delayed project.

The tribe is seeking a building inspector / building commissioner for the First Light Resort and Casino in the city of Taunton. According to the listing, the facility will be built in phases and will include a 927,445 square-foot casino, a 329,000 square-foot hotel and a garage with space for up to 4,000 vehicles.

"The Respondent will be required to have prior in depth knowledge of building and fire codes; understanding, developing, and managing a building department or code consulting firm; providing plan review, inspections, and record management," the listing submitted by the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Gaming Authority states.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is still reviewing the land-into-trust application for the 151-acre site in Taunton. The environmental impact statement was finalized a year ago in September 2014 but there isn't a firm timeline for a decision.

The tribe's federal recognition was finalized in May 2007.
