The Navajo Nation unveiled plans for a major development to complement its flagship gaming facility in Arizona.
The Outlook at Glittering Mountain calls for restaurants, stores, hotels, an entertainment pavilion and housing. It would be located on 70 acres of fee land west of the Twin Arrows Navajo Casino
Resort in Flagstaff.
“We are blazing a new trail for the Navajo Nation,” Nathan Begay, the CEO of Navajo Nation Shopping Centers Inc., told the Coconino County Board of Supervisors, The Arizona Daily Star reported. “We are stepping into a new challenge.”
Since the project is located on fee land, the tribe sought and received approval from the county for a development agreement.
