Lower Sioux Indian Community debuts $22M casino expansion

The Lower Sioux Indian Community of Minnesota has completed a $22 million casino expansion project.

The tribe renovated and expanded the gaming floor at the Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel. There's a VIP lounge, a 225-seat bingo hall, a 160-seat sports bar and entertainment venue and a new ventilation system.

“It’s truly a new Jackpot Junction,’’ general manager Barry Milligan told The West Central Tribune.

The tribe broke ground on the project in August 2013. Work concluded in the fall and winter of 2014.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place September 14 in conjunction with a tribal leaders forum and meetings of the Minnesota American Indian Chamber of Commerce and the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council.
