Tribes in Arizona contribute $1.1B in gaming revenues to state

Tribes in Arizona have contributed $1.1 billion in gaming revenues to the state since 2004, The East Valley Tribune reports.

Of that amount, nearly $992.3 million has gone to the Arizona Benefits Fund. The money funds education, emergency services, tourism and wildlife conservation programs.

Another $115.7 million went directly to local governments. They use the money for infrastructure, law enforcement and other services.

The cumulative figures were reported by the Arizona Department of Gaming.
