President Russell Begaye signed Legislation No. 0084-15 into law, the Associated Press reports. It imposes a 3.25 percent on alcoholic beverages sold at the Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff. It also applies to a tribal-owned marina at Lake Powell.

The tax is expected to generate $73,000 a year. Revenues will placed into a fund to combat drunken driving on the reservation.
